For holding my hands while crossing the road,

For not stopping me when you could see I was making a mistake,

For letting me fall and learn, so eventually my own merit I could earn,

For knowing exactly what to say when life took ugly turns,

For teaching me to stand tall and get back up when I fall,

For never showing you're tired even when times were rough,

For all the kind words when feeling good was so unheard,

For being liberal enough to always let me have my way,

For all the late nights staying up with me when I was sick,

For all the worrying, for all the countless hours of lost sleep,

For putting up with me when I wouldn’t quite listen to you,

For all the late nights up feeding me as a baby,

For drying my tears and fixing my fears,

For all your time and all your love,

For giving me more than I could ever ask for,

For all the times I forgot to say it,
